KORN Mixing New Album With TERRY DATE
July 15, 2005KORN frontman Jonathan Davis has posted the following message on his Butt Sex Crips web site:
"What up, kids? Well, I've been bustin' my ass working on mixing these songs. We have 7 done and we keep crankin' them out. We have to have all of them done by August 5th 'cause we have to leave for Europe. Terry Date [PANTERA, DEFTONES, SOULFLY] is mixing the album and it sounds better than any album we have done.
"We also have been rehearsing for tour. We sound great! The new songs rule and everyone in the band is very happy with everything.
"Well goodnight, I'm fuckin' tired."
KORN have been working primarily with Matrix and Ross (BAD RELIGION, PINK) on the follow-up to 2003's "Take a Look in the Mirror". Only one track from the band's sessions with Dallas Austin is slated to appear on the effort, with the album's previously announced collaboration with rapper THE GAME, "Revolution", having already been scratched from the album's track list. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Liar", "Politix", "Last Legal Drug", "Le Petit Mort", "It's Me Again", "Coming Undone", "I've Seen It All" and "Souvenir of Sadness". An October release is expected.
KORN's last release, "Greatest Hits, Vol. 1" (Immortal/Epic),featuring highlights from the first 10 years of the band's recording career, has sold 929,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
